Q:
Alva, tell us about your personal contributions to Transcription
Plus, LLC.
A: I contribute my attention to detail, accuracy and my love of
words and languages – which includes medical language. My
writing and reading skills are also a contribution.
Q: How do you describe your work
style?
A: I enjoy learning and absorbing and applying information. I
love to analyze and look for better ways to do things; solving
problems and training others as needed. Previously, I’ve
worked as an Office Manager, Executive Secretary, Project Manager
and in general transcription. My work style developed as a result
of these experiences.
Q: That sounds very productive.
How would a good friend describe you?
A: Empathic and friendly, a good listener, supportive and willing
to help when I can. I am always looking for the “good”
in others.
Q: What do you like about living
in Georgia?
A: Originally from New Jersey, my husband and I have been living
in the Atlanta area for 24 years. At first, it seemed different
but many northerners have moved down here over the years and the
area has changed. I definitely do not miss the New Jersey winters!
With technology, it is easy to keep in touch with family who live
far away – and we all visit when we can.
Q: Outside of your career, what
goals have you set for yourself?
A: I want to become more fluent in Spanish and French. I have
religious and spiritual goals. I would like to keep myself as
healthy as possible, work more with my crafts and do some re-decorating
at home. Busy!
Q: What does success mean to you?
A: Success means accomplishing what you set out to do to the best
of your ability and satisfaction. Success is being satisfied with
the results if you have done your best.
Q: Tell me about your hobbies
and interests outside of work.
A: Crafts, reading, board games – especially Scrabble or
Trivial Pursuit, travel and sightseeing, museums and spending
time with my extended family. My children and my 2 grandsons.
Q: What motivates you?
A: I am motivated by having the opportunity to do something I
enjoy and do it well so I can be proud of my finished product.
I like to be able to sense that I’m doing a good job and
accomplishing something. It’s good to hear positive feedback
occasionally that all is well – good job!
Q: Do you consider yourself a compassionate
person and why?
A: Yes; compassion involved not only noticing suffering or difficulty,
but being empathetic and doing something about it or being adaptable
as much as you can. I try to do this.
Q: If you could accomplish one thing this year, what would it
be?
A: I would like to tune in more to my religious/spiritual goals
and keep a good balance between those goals and success in my
workplace. |
